The Boroughs will be back on Saturday APRIL 2nd when they take the stage for the last time at the LUNA LOUNGE. As you probably already know, all shows at the Luna are FREE. So make sure you come out and say goodbye to a venue that has meant a lot to us all. Check tour dates for more info.

In other fun news, the guys have agreed to participate in a competive battle of the bands at Arlene's Grocery - April 17th. Following the rules of the contest, each band was given a random group to which they have to cover 2-3 songs of that particular artist. So having said that, The Boroughs are covering the one and only Soul Asylum! Needless to say, the guys would never shy away from a challenge. So come on down(rumor has it Dave Pirner is gonna jam with the band) and see The Boroughs do something they never do, play covers. Hey it could have been worse, one band is covering the Spice Girls. Check tour dates for more info.

Last but not least, the "OSTRICH" EP's art work is in the final phase, more news coming soon.

03/03/05

Hi everyone! Lots of news this week. First of all, we would like to send out a big happy birthday to guitarist Ryan Dwork(3/2)....We salute you.

In other news, the band has finally completed the recording of "OSTRICH," their long awaited 5 song EP. The record was produced and mixed by Jason Marcus of Mugshot Records (Death of Fashion, Ultra Hi Frequency) and engineered by Oshin Baroyan at Station Sound Studios in Douglaston, NY. We want to thank both Jason and Oshin for all of their creativity and hard work. In addition, the band was lucky enough to have their record mastered by industry great Fred Kevorkian (The White Stripes, Lou Reed, Sonic Youth, and Phish) at Absolute Audio, NYC. Fred did an incredible job and the boys can't wait for everyone to hear it.

Right now the guys are trying to get the art work and duplication process finished up. We don't have a release date yet, but hope to have it ready some time in April, so please be patient.

Last but not least, The Boroughs will be playing their next gig at Kenny's Castaway's (Greenwich Village), St. Paddy's Day, March the 17th, at 10PM. The band always puts on an extra special show for the holidays and this will be no exception. If you have never been to this New York landmark, get down there. Kenny's has launched several big careers such as The New York Dolls and Bruce Springsteen. After The Boroughs' set, there will be a huge jam session with all the bands of the night. If you haven't seen the band in a while, this will be the one to check out. Come down and celebrate this great drinking night with some kick ass rock music and testify!

02/28/05
The Boroughs here, yes, we're still alive. In fact, the final mix is done on our E.P. and it will be mastered on March 2nd. That's all thats going on for now, see you on St. Patrick's Day!

If you havent heard by now, The Boroughs were in the studio over the last weekend recording their upcoming 5 song EP. After a long, snowed in weekend, the EP is almost done. We'll have more details on how you can get your hands on one of these babies in the near future.

01/13/05

Yes, that's right! Yesterday, The Boroughs' track "Setting Sun" was featured on Joe Belock's show on WFMU thanks to our friend Mike Fornatale. Mike, a Little Steven's Battle of the Bands judge and current member of Richard and the Young Lions, was a guest on Joe's show and brought some of his favorite music from the competition. Big, big, thanks go out to Mike and Joe for making this the first time The Boroughs' music has hit the airwaves...

If you'd like to listen for yourself, you can download the entire Fornatale interview at WFMU or at Mike's Site
Be warned, it is a rather LARGE file and dial-up users should be prepared to wait a while. The Boroughs' track is spun near the very end of the show, but everyone should listen to the entire interview at some juncture, as Mike is a very interesting and knowledgeable guy.

01/01/05
